"FRANK COLETTA"
BIO
After graduating SUNY at New Paltz from the Fine Arts program Frank taught Art Education in New York’s public school system for eight years. In 1974, Frank left public school education and entered the Northeast School of Biblical Studies for two years preparing himself to minister to the Churches of Christ. Frank retired after 35 years of full time ministering and has returned to one his great passions, the fine arts. Frank and his wife Martha, have been residents of Clifton Park since 1971.
Frank is an accomplished artist who works in the mediums of oils, water colors, colored pencils, and pencil and ink. Frank has exhibited his work nationally and locally in juried shows. He once again is showing his work at local galleries and public libraries.
He enjoys working plein air which allows him to capture the mood of the scene in its natural setting. Frank has created many series of works from seascapes, landscapes, animals, flowers and ocean waves. His subject matter is drawn from all areas of this great country. His favorite area is the greater Capital District and the Adirondacks.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Here are some of my newest works. I think some of them are my best works yet. They are all in pen & Ink with colored pencil. The subjects are from Split Rock falls, and the Visher Ferry Nature Preserve, and a house across street from the preserve...that's the first pic. I used the circle motif to get better control the subject matter....I tend to over draw the picture...too much detail..clutter. I really liked cutting it down to black and white with a gentle blue waterfall. Some of those drawings are already gone to lovers of the north.
