Cindi Handy
About the Artist:
Born and raised in Schenectady, New York, Cindi attended Alfred University College of Ceramics - School of Art and Design, before embarking on a career in the graphic arts. After working in that field for over 10 years, she has once again picked up her paintbrush. Now a resident of Clifton Park, New York, Cindi splits her time as a freelance graphic designer and a watercolor artist.
"Nature is what inspires me. I try to evoke the peace and beauty I feel when I look at the outside world. I'm fascinated with the abstract nature of the small details that come together to create a realistic representation of an object. In each painting, I try to capture what it is that attracted me to the object or scene, so I can bring it to the attention of others. My love of kayaking has inspired me to create many paintings depicting the tranquility and serenity that I feel on the water."
