CAROL WINTERTON
I have loved drawing and painting since grade school. My original training did not happen until my early thirties. I took lessons for about three years, starting in pencil and charcoal. The classes expanded to soft pastels and watercolor. I was commissioned to do ten large paintings for offices in a bank. Then I became so involved with my family, painting was put aside. My children grew and then my husband passed away. What a gift it was to start up painting once again at this point. It has become my passion and filled many days with a reason to get up. I taught myself oil and acrylic painting and have done at least 200 pieces in the last seven years and created an art room in a bedroom of my house. It is still my passion, I set aside 10 – noon every day to paint and love to have multiple pieces going at the same time. Landscapes are my favorite, especially beaches, but I have branched out to animals and some abstracts.
