The Conservancy is dedicated to the acquisition and preservation of natural resources / land in the Capital region. Kristine’s show is “Our Beautiful Land”.

Saturday, May 4th - Clifton Park Senior Community Center 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon – Karen will demonstrate her oil painting techniques 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. – break for lunch (not provided) 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – guided instruction Workshop price is $60 for members, $70 for non-members, (made out to SSAS). Limited to 14 participants. To reserve your space mail your check to: SSAS, PO Box 1536, Clifton Park, NY 12065. No reservations without payment, no refunds. We will be sending out a supply list to registered participants. If you don’t have painting supplies (Karen will guide you with oils or acrylics), you can purchase a basic kit from Karen for $10.

First Friday Presentation at Grooms Tavern - April 5th at 7:00 p.m. Please plan to join us at Grooms Tavern, 290 Sugar Hill Rd, Rexford, NY 12148, for a SSAS presentation that will include our history, a slideshow, and our vision for the future of our organization. Several of our artists will be demonstrating and answering questions, and there will be artwork on display. Questions or want to volunteer to help? Contact Jean Skanes by replying to this email. Venues and Displays We have a lot of venues and need a lot of artists to display! Check out the list on our website. Please consider signing up to show your work - some of the venues only need 2 pieces of artwork. For some of the larger spaces, sign up for a partial show and let us know how many pieces you have - we will find others to share the space. Don’t be shy!!! Sign up sheets will be available at the March meeting. Show on display April 5 thru May 18 and is open to 2 or more artists from the same family (spouses, parents, siblings, cousins, children, grandparents, etc. or any combination of). $30 per family for up to 6 pieces of art total, any medium, any size. All art must be “gallery ready” to hang or display. 30% commission on sales. “Art of The Bottle II" - Entry deadline May 25, 4:00pm. Show on display May 31 thru July 13 and is open to any art which uses or depicts bottles in some form or function. This show coincides with the National Bottle Museum sponsored 40th Annual Saratoga Bottle Show on June 2. $25 for up to 4 pieces of art, any medium, any size. All art must be “gallery ready” to hang or display. 30% commission on sales. No entry fee, cash prizes. Entry deadline is March 29th. We are very happy to announce that SSAS has been awarded a $500 grant from to support our Artist’s Demonstration program. The grant will cover the demo fees for five artists throughout 2019. Saratoga Arts made this program possible with a Community Arts Grant funded by the New York State Council on Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
